About Kathy
Frequently Asked Questions
For as long as I can remember, I have always felt the
need to create. As a child, I spent countless hours
experimenting with scissors, crayons, glue and a whole
host of found materials. It never occurred to me that I
was making art. I just knew I was having fun. Although
my supplies and techniques have changed over the years,
my need to create remains.
While I have lived in Maine the better part of my life,
I grew up the youngest of three in Sunapee, New
Hampshire. Both my father and paternal grandmother were
elementary school principals. My mother, maternal
grandmother, aunt and several great aunts were all
teachers. Having come from such a long line of
educators, it seemed most natural to pursue a like
career. I received a degree in Art Education. I have
taught art at a variety of levels for many years, and
continue doing so on a part time basis. I also enjoy
visiting schools to talk with children about the process
of writing and illustrating children's book. In my quiet
hours, I can usually be found in my studio, a place
where I am most grateful to be spending time.
